SM Entertainment MAY join Park Jin-young and Bae Yong-joon to produce Dream High, Season 2
Well, this just got interesting. Edaily is reporting that JYP Entertainment and KeyEast (headed by Park Jin-young and Bae Yong-joon, respectively) are now in talks with SM Entertainment to join them in producing the second season of the hit drama which is scheduled to air early next year. If SM Entertainment jumps on board, it will widen the talent pool substantially and it will also contribute to the music featured in the series making it even more amazing. Most importantly, this means more money will be available to go into the production which means higher production value and, prayerfully, no clouds of cold air escaping from the actors’ mouths. Dream High 2 has already begun production with scripts and proposals to be reviewed with KBS to make final plans early next month so if SM is going to make a decision they better make it fast. While they didn’t mention this, I have no choice but to wonder what this would mean for the K-Hana Kimi SM announced they would be producing.
I wondered why we hadn’t heard anything about the production and this may be the reason. Obviously, Dream High would have to take precedence over K-Hana Kimi, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it wouldn’t happen. They could do Dream High 2 which is HIGHLY anticipated (particularly by me) by a LARGE fanbase and then move on to K-Hana Kimi with the lessons (and success) they would get with Dream High 2. It’s actually very clever: Little to sacrifice, a lot to (possibly) gain. Honestly, either way this goes, we win.
